Fine Art Reproductions

J.R. Rowell Printing Company, Inc. takes great pleasure in being the “ARTIST’S PRINTER”, a name earned through years of working closely with the art community throughout the Southeast. We have established a reputation for beautiful art reproductions because we produce only prints and giclees of the highest quality.
Prints
The decision by an artist to reproduce his work has always been a tough one. If you are a professional artist, you must consider the advantages of working with Rowell Printing for its ability to reproduce artwork as Lithography. Our Miller press provides outstanding quality in reproducing art prints.
Gilcees
We have recently answered the demands of our current artists to expand our capabilities to the giclee. We have the most technologically advanced giclee printer available today. With variable droplet technology, our 8-color Hi-Fi JET PRO features “V8” technology, dramatically increasing the color gamut and producing beautifully smooth and virtually dot-free output.

Cost:
At Rowell Printing we only produce high quality reproductions, therefore requiring an 8x10 transparency be made of your artwork. Your transparency is then scanned on our state of the art Linotype backlit flatbed scanner and color corrections are made by
our Roland trained graphic professionals. You will receive an 18x20 color matched proof on the medium you have selected. When you approve the proof, it is archived to a disk, this is what we will then use to reproduce your artwork. This is what your startup cost entails and it is $250 per image. You will only pay this one time per image no matter how many times you want to reproduce it.
Reproductions on canvas are ¢.10 per square inch, so to produce an image that is 16x20 your cost per print will be $32.00. Our artists generally sell these limited edition reproductions for hundreds even thousands of dollars.
Roland Inks:
Traditionally, there have been two inks available on the market - dye and pigment. Dye-based inks have been very bright but are not suitable for outdoor or light-sensitive applications due to quick fading. Roland pigment inks were
developed to provide UV stability in outdoor applications. Roland inks use pigment particles (or chromaphores) that are suspended in an ink carrier fluid at higher
concentrations than most thermal ink jet inks - yielding a wider color space.
Roland pigment inks changed the perception that only dye inks offer vivid colors. Now you can have the best of both worlds. Bright inks with an exceptional color gamut coupled with UV stability and exceptional light fastness. An added benefit is
incomparable indoor stability. Ongoing tests at Wilhelm Research indicate over 100 years indoor print permanence with Roland pigment ink printed on the Hi-Fi JET or CAMMJET.
While the giclee is one of the best means of reproducing your artwork in limited quantities, do not forget the value of lithographed prints and posters. The limited edition print and poster business can be lucrative to your career as well as allowing a larger market to be able to purchase your artwork.
No matter what your preference on reproducing your artwork, Rowell Printing has the ability to ensure the highest quality. Please call 800-520-9626 with any questions you may have. We look forward to working with you.
